Vanessa (V.M.) Therrien is an author-illustrator specializing in fantastical creatures and tales. She earned a BFA in Illustration with an emphasis on Concept Art from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. 
 
As a writer, Vanessa loves everything about building a new world from scratch for epic fantasy-adventure tales. As an illustrator, her passion lies in drawing animal characters and designing creatures from both real and imagined worlds. She is inspired by all the wonders of the natural world as well as mythology, ancient history, folk and fairy tales, and literature.

In her spare time, Vanessa likes to watch the special features of her favorite films, tries to keep her feline children out of trouble (as much as any cat-mom can), and enjoys expanding her personal library toward epic, Beauty and the Beast-like proportions.
