ā Merry Yuletide Everyone! ā
The end of this year is proving to be a whirlwind. I canāt believe thereās only 31 days left of 2024! Things are still very much nuts in my neck of the woods, so without any ado whatsoever, letās get to the books!
āš December Cup of Tea Book Club PickĀ šā

This month weāre reading the timeless classic A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens! Though I grew up hearing it mostly in film form, Iāve never actually read the original story. Because Iām me and I love getting classic books as close to as they originally appeared as possible, Iām reading a reproduction of the first edition. Iām especially excited to see the illustrations.
Also, this month the book club discussion is open to everyone, so jump into the comments on Substack or Patreon and join us!
āš Books I Read in NovemberĀ šā

I tried, but couldnāt finish a book last month. I did start Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood, and got about 1/4 of the way through. Itās a cozy fantasy about a āin the broom closetā witch working in a bookshop who prefers not to use her magic much. Then she receives a letter on her 30th birthday from her coven that says she must pass a magic trial, or have her magic stripped away.
The main character is relatable, especially if youāve ever worked in a bookshop (the blurb hit super close to home at the time this book found me, so I immediately scooped it up) and the side characters that I met so far were equal parts charming, annoying, and warmhearted - as they should be.
I was very much enjoying what I was reading, life just got in the way, so at some point I want to go back and finish. Highly recommend if you need something lighthearted and cozy to finish out the year!
š„š November Book Haul šš„
A friend gifted me the Barnes & Noble exclusive editions of One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig, and oh my goodness are they gorgeous! The Shepherd King duology is about a woman who lives in a kingdom cursed by dark magic, and the only thing that could save it is the monster living in her head called the Nightmare.
This is one of my favorite fantasy series, so if you like Gothic fantasy akin to Grimmās fairytales, you gotta pick this one up!
Short and sweet this month. Happy Reading!
